Are you finished with ISDN? Some businesses are still using with ISDN in 2020 but Come 2025 BT will be stopping their ISDN services, this will be replaced by VoIP. What is VoIP and why is it replacing ISDN I will go into the details in this blog post.

VoIP technology converts your voice into a digital signal, allowing users to make calls from a computer using the internet. ISDN is a circuit-switched telephone network system, the main reasons for the ISDN switch off are mainly driven by costs and profits for the future. With more and more people using VoIP BT have heavily invested in it, so it makes no sense to further invest into its legacy ISDN network. VoIP also means you can reduce line rental because you will need fewer physical lines and VoIP is much quicker to provision new lines. VoIP uses cloud based telephone systems which allow a company to easily transfer calls between offices and locations.
